Network Planning

Network planning has a great impact on the network quality and optimization. This includes planning:
  • Project parameters: Latitude and longitude of BTS, mounted height, azimuth, PN, adjacent cell and BTS power.
  • Region parameters: location area code (LAC), REGZONE, signaling points and their coordination.
  • Network performance parameters: performance parameters
Difficult of Network Planning:
  • LAC, signaling points and BSS Frame
  • Adjacent cell data
  • Search window configuration
  • Power setting (especially for mixed networking)

Optimization Procedure:
  • Study the performance report to locate the scale.
  • Analyze the corresponding alarms.
  • Conduct drive test to know forward Ec/Io, FER and coverage distribution.
  • Associated performance data should be under consideration.
  • Expansion is necessary when no more parameters can be optimized.

Difficult of Optimization The advantage of CDMA over 2G lies in the application of power control and soft handoff, which is the emphasis of the optimization. Besides that, the optimization of data service is also important.
  • Optimizing power control parameters
  • Optimizing access parameters
  • Discover the problems of algorithm and software
  • Optimizing load control
  • Optimizing data service

BSS Network Planning Parameters Configuration The Network Planning Parameters allows network optimization engineers to make the best of these radio resource management tooptimize the CDMA network. This includes configuration of:
  • Handoff parameters
  • Sector carrier parameters
  • Cell parameters
  • Common channel parameters
  • Power control
  • System message parameters
  • Data Service parameters
  • Channel management
