Evolution of 3G Core Network & NE

MSCe (MSC emulation): is a set of multiple logic functional entities. It support call controll, connection, VLR and some service functions. It is the core device providing call, control and service for CS real time voice/data service in this phase. MGW (Media Gateway): provides the packet environment in the core network and the circuit switching environment in the PSTN with the support for bearer services, codec function of the vocoder, IWF functions (mutual conversion between the circuit audio modem sound and the digital audion byte stream), and capability of terminating the PPP connection.
MRFP (Media Resource Functional Processor):
in the LMSD, together with the control entity MSCe, provides such as multi-party conference bridging, notification review and voice review.
SGW (Signalling Gateway): conduct conversion between SS7 signalling transmission (SS7 MTP) and IP based signalling transmission (SIGTRAN SCTP/IP). It effectively guarantees the service integration between different networks.
HLRe (HLR emulation): base of HLR, the IP signalling interface is added to the HLRe to manage the user's voice service and data service features and the user's location and accessibility information.
SCPe same with IN:
provides an IP signalling interface, prosesses the call control function and service customization request during the WIN process, and interacts with other functional entities to access the additional logic and obtain the information required for processing calls and service logic instances.
